Kennon Street Mine Drain

The Problem consists of drainage from an abandoned underground mine adversely affecting homes and a public road. The intent of this project is to collect the mine drainage and divert the water away from the affected home and public roadway. The project includes the construction a rock lined channel and drain system to collect and convey mine drainage to an adjacent storm water channel. The project includes the restoration of the site and public roadway. Major work items include: 1. Mobilization 2. Maintaining traffic 3. Installation of sediment controls 4. Clearing and grubbing 5. Construction of rock lined channel 6. Construction of 12" storm sewer starting at the outlet and working upstream 7. Construction of 8" storm sewer 8. Debris removal and disposal (rear CMU wall/spring house) 9. Excavate bench for aggregate drain installation 10. Construction of aggregate drain 11. Final grading 12. Application of standard revegatation to the disturbed areas 13. Pavement replacement.
