Description | Erosion repair at the Dry Creek Bridge which is located in the 400 Block of Colorado Drive (Rivers Crossing Subdivision). The TxDOT off system bridge crossing at Dry Creek has suffered multiple periods of extreme erosion over the past six years due to multiple flooding events. This bridge is in need of immediate erosion control repair to consist of replacing concrete riprap on the Northwest side of the bridge and replacement of stone riprap under the bridge itself. Because of undermining, the approaches to the bridge have had excessive settling and will require additional flowable backfill estimated at 1.0 CY per Abutment end, for an estimated total of 4.0 CY. The awarded contractor will be required to remove approximately 16 feet of existing concrete riprap flume from the Northwest side of the Dry Creek Bridge. For safety purposes contractor shall change the existing 1:1 slope to a 4:1slope. Upon completion of the slope improvement, contractor will then place 18" stone rip rap in accordance with TXDOT Spec Item 4326051, RIPRAP (STONE COMMON) (GROUT) (l8 IN) over an area of 50' wide and extending 15' below the bridge abutment. |
