Description

Award of the Contract will be made to the lowest responsible bidder as determined by Bucks County Housing Authority, and the Authority reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities in the bid submission, and the unqualified right to reject any and all bids. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check drawn to the order of the Bucks County Housing Authority, or a Bid Bond in favor of the Bucks County Housing Authority in a dollar amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid as security against the failure of the successful bidder to enter into a contract for the performance of the work stated above within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice to do so by the Bucks County Housing Authority. In the event the successful bidder shall so fail to enter into a contract, the bidder or the principal on the Bid Bond shall pay to the Bucks County Housing Authority the difference, not to exceed the penal amount of the bond or the check, between the amount specified in the successful bidder's bid and such larger amount for which the Bucks County Housing Authority may, in good faith, contract with another party to perform the work specified in said bid. Documents will not be mailed unless the Contractor supplies their Federal Express Account Number. Checks shall be made out payable to Carroll Engineering Corporation. Inquires pertaining to the contract documents shall be directed to the Bucks County Housing Authority, Attn: Donald E. Grondahl, Executive Director, 350 S. Main Street, Suite 205, Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901, (215) 348-9469. The Bucks County Housing Authority encourages Section 3 Contractors to participate in the bidding process. Bidders are advised that the Davis-Bacon Wage Act applies to this Contract and that the successful Bidder shall pay no less than the Federal Wage Rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful Bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening.
