Description | The Town of Sharpsburg Public Works Department, responds to various leaks and with the repair of the leaks, streets require repair. The scope is to cover the require repair work to provide asphalt back over the existing area where the water line was repaired. It is anticipated that all work will be awarded to one contractor. 1 Kentucky Court 2" of asphalt for a 10 x 10 patch 2 B Street 2" of asphalt for a 7 x 10 patch All contractors must maintain the appropriate licensing in order to complete the work and can't be currently debarred federally and or locally from completing construction and or highway related work. Contractor is responsible for all work turn key and responsible for any required flag men and or traffic controls may need to be installed during the work, including any request for Town of Sharpsburg Police department. Contractor is responsible for all workmanship, only in the event of weather-related issue and or an extreme limitation, the contractor will be required to pay liquidated damages for everyday over the agreed time to complete the work. As this is a relatively small job in residential neighborhoods, limited amount of traffic control should be required. MWBE firms are encouraged to apply. Upon award all vendors must be registered as a vendor with the Town of Sharpsburg. Work is not subject to Davis Bacon requirements. All materials should be guarantee and completed in a workman like manner according to standard practice. Any alteration, deviation from the specifications, must be pre-approved and written and approved by the Town Administrator in the form of a change order. All parties will be required to sign off on change orders PRIOR to any work being completed against any approved change order. Should it become necessary, the Town of Sharpsburg, NC will be entitled to any recovery of all cost, including reasonable attorney fees and court cost. All change orders will be required to be placed in writing. No verbal commitments may be made only in the extreme case of an emergency as authorized only by the Town Administrator. The parties agree that calculation of actual damages resulting from failure to meet the following performance standards is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to calculate accurately, and the parties also agree that the compensation identified for such failures are a reasonable estimate of damages resulting from a failure to meet the performance standard described. Therefore, the parties agree that the Vendor shall be subject to amounts due as liquidated damages but not as a penalty, for each such failure, as follows: For each day in excess of the deadline the Contractor shall pay the Town the sum of $175.00 per day for liquidated damages. Vendor bears all responsibility for late submissions. Questions answered verbally will be followed up by written addenda as deemed necessary, oral interpretations have no effect.
