Interior Renovations And Asbestos Abatement

BASE BID consists of the abatement of approximately 1,850 square feet of carpet covered asbestos containing floor tile and mastic, including carpet and associated mastic under full containment methods, the abatement of 140 square feet of double layer asbestos containing floor tile and mastic under full containment methods and the abatement of approximately 2,770 square feet of single layer asbestos containing floor tile and mastic by infrared heat removal methods. Removal of all associated wall base material is commensurate with the work. The work also contains interior renovations necessary for the creation of new administrative offices within an existing classroom, including demolition, new metal stud and gypsum board partitions, new vinyl tile and carpet tile flooring and rubber base (to replace a portion of removed asbestos containing flooring materials – the balance of new flooring will be provided and installed by others under separate contract), new suspended acoustical panel ceilings, new paint and new casework. Mechanical and electrical work is commensurate with the renovation. ALTERNATE BID #1 consists of the abatement of approximately 815 square feet of double layer asbestos containing floor tile and mastic under full containment methods. Removal of associated wall base material is commensurate with the work. The work also includes new vinyl tile flooring and rubber wall base materials (to replace a portion of the removed asbestos containing flooring materials - the balance of new flooring will be provided and installed by others under separate contract).
