Description The Art Lab is 17,000 SF facility built in 1976 for use by undergrad and graduate students to complete wood, metal, and ceramic art projects. The building contains a metal shop, wood shop, ceramics studio and powder mixing room, paint room, and six graduate student studios. The art lab is located about 1 mile north of the main campus. The building has original (1976) HVAC equipment that requires replacement and much of the building needs improvements to be compliant with current safety regulations and standards. The building is not currently ADA compliant. The focus of the proposed project is to replace aged HVAC equipment, make upgrades to bring the building up to current OSHA and NCBC requirements, make the building ADA compliant, and improve ventilation throughout workshops.
