Description

As of February 21, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. No definite date for the rebid. Sealed bids will be received by the Pemberton Township Board of Education for the Pemberton Township High School Auditorium Renovations in the Township of Pemberton, Burlington County, New Jersey. The Work consists of the following: The project consists of upgrading all theatrical audio and visual equipment, replacing all seating as well as improving ADA accessibility, painting all new and existing handrails, the demolition of partial stairs and the demolition and replacement of all VCT flooring, carpeting and cove wall base within the auditorium and vestibule at the Pemberton Township High School, located at 148 Arneys Mount Road, Pemberton, New Jersey. The project has an alternate bid for upgrading house lighting to LED lighting and an alternate bid for the painting of all walls within the auditorium. Work will occur at the High School while the building is occupied by staff and contractors will need to avoid any disruption to normal school activities. A safe and secure environment will be provided for all occupants during the construction process. Specific renovations scope is as follows Demolition: The Contractor is responsible for the complete and proper demolition, removal, and disposal of all materials necessary to complete the renovation of the auditorium. New Work: The Contractor is responsible and obligated to successfully complete theentire project and to complete each and every necessary detail of every item required to renovate the auditorium. The contractor is responsible for providing new architectural and finish systems and upgrades to all theatrical audio and visual equipment to complete auditorium renovations. The contractor shall field verify all existing dimensions prior to construction and/or preparation of shop drawings. New work shall include the following: - Contractor shall protect existing all existing surfaces and existing furniture, or equipment present during the project's construction. Any surfaces, furniture, or equipment damaged, or paint spattered, spilled, etc., shall be repaired and brought back to pre-construction condition or replaced as no additional cost to the owner. -Contractor shall remove existing VCT floor, repair and prepare slab for new flooring. Install new VCT floor under seating area as indicated on the contract documents. -Contractor shall remove existing carpet and install new carpet within auditorium & vestibule as indicated on the contract documents. - Contractor shall connect existing electrical floor box power to new aisle lighting located on new seating at every other row as indicated on the electrical contract documents. Verify existing in field. 1. Contractor shall upgrade house lighting to LED lighting as indicated on the electrical contract documents. 2.Contractor shall patch, prime, and paint all auditorium walls. Remove acoustical wall panels and salvage for reinstallation. Bid forms, contracts and specifications are available by contacting Remington & Vernick Engineers. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also waive any informality in any bid or bids received, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to: Daniel Smith, Business Administrator, 1 Egbert St, Pemberton, NJ 08068, Burlington County, New Jersey. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Board of Education in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. The bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority and the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, and have a valid up-to-date notice of classification prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of the New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active pre-qualification/classification certificate will be rejected as being non-responsive to the bid requirements. Each Bidder will submit will their bid a Certificate of Consent of Surety as per N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25 from a Surety Company stating that it will provide the bidder, if successful, with a Performance/Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary moneys to do the work being provided by the Pemberton Township Board of Education in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Pemberton Township Board of Education in a lawful manner. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq., pertaining to the "Public School Contracts Law". All Bidders are placed on notice that they are required to comply with all requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, Affirmative Action, current regulations, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq., New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, and American With Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. S12101, et seq.). All Bidders must comply with all requirements of Federal, State and Local and current applicable regulations. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. The contractor is also further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 and submit proof of business registration and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accordance with the act.
