Description | Joint Base Andrews, MD Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) Training/Administration Building: Project 1 - Design/Bid/Build - Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) Training/Administration Building at Joint Base Andrews, MD.: The new 17,567 SF training facility will comply with program requirements of the AFRC HANDBOOK 32-1001 Standard Facility Requirements 14 August 2018 and User requested program of spaces within the building. The training facility is programmed with a large open area for the administrative functions and their respective support areas such as conference room, break room, private offices, teaming area, lactation room, restrooms with lockers, classrooms and training rooms, auditorium, and the necessary mechanical and electrical support spaces. In the Medical Equipment and Operations Storage area an overhead coiling door will be provided for access to a porte-cochere for vehicular pass-through and unloading from van and trailer for routine training exercises that include runs between the AES Training Building and the flight-line. Project 2 – Construct Deicer Garage: This project calls for the construction of a 3,600sf pre-engineered metal building to house three (3) deicer trucks and two aircraft tugs. This building will have a concrete foundation and floor slab, partial brick veneer siding, four insulated overhead doors and radiant heaters with door interlocks. Utilities and site improvements will also be a part of this construction project. Project 3 – Construct Support Space for 459 MXS Fuel Cell: This project calls for the award and construction of a 2,250sf support office for the 459th MXS Fuel Cell personnel. It is programmed with an open area for the administrative functions, private offices, restroom and break area. Utilities and site improvements will also be a part of this construction project. Project 4 - Repair KC-135 Maintenance Hangar: This project calls for the award and renovation of Hangar #10 (KC-135 Maintenance Hangar) to include building deficiencies identified in a Facilities Operations Capability and Utilization Survey. The work includes, but is not limited to: repair/replace snow guard and lighting protection cable; repair/replace interior/exterior doors, overhead doors/operators and windows; repair roof leaks; replace ceiling tiles; replacing hot water tank; replacing 10,000 CFM wall fan; and installing fall protection within the hangar bays. |
