Description | The project includes the repaving of the Perimeter road, converting the existing Dog Kennel location into Office space, various improvements at the Fleet building as determined by Owner, if the budget allows, and renovation of four (4) dormitories - Buildings D, E, F and G. Dorms E, F and G will match existing dorms. D Dormitory will be renovated for use as a Transition Center (TC) dormitory with a separate entrance and laundry area. These buildings were selected for the purpose of sustaining, enhancing, and expanding the services provided by the Georgia Department of Corrections In reach and Transitional Centers. The Metro Reentry Facility is located at 1301 Constitution Road SE, Atlanta, Georgia. The Project will benefit many Metro Atlanta inmates returning to the Metro area, specifically residents of Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, Dekalb and Gwinnett counties. This renovation phase will provide in-reach services by offering 400+ beds and office space. All building services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection will be reviewed. The project also includes roof, window, CCTV and locking control replacement as needed. Minor Site work may be needed for improved site arrival (signage, parking lot overlay) to increase the visibility of the new Transitional center dorm. The installation of a grinder and auger equipment to facilitate three facilities (Helms, Metro TC and Metro RF) will also be needed. One or more of the dormitory cell(s) will need to be converted to meet ADA requirements. |
