US HWY 6 and Heritage Road Interchange Project

The project will provide a grade separated interchange at the intersection of US Highway 6 and Heritage Road in the City of Golden at about US Highway 6 MP 274. The project will lower US 6 and construct a bridge over it, with connecting ramps to Heritage Road and Jefferson County Parkway. The project will include a significant portion of bridge that will be dedicated to community connectivity for pedestrians, and bikes as well as potentially providing an area for a park-like setting or other non-transportation community use. The project will also provide any needed noise mitigation that will be needed to meet the 55dB standard of the city. The interchange also represents a speed limit transition point from 45mph to 55mph traveling westbound on US 6. There is anticipated to be a high level of coordination with an adjacent wildlife crossing project as a part of this interchange project.
