Description

The Town of South Hadley, in accordance with M. G. L. Chapter 149, and acting through its Selectboard will receive sealed bids for the "Town Hall Masonry Repair Project." The estimated cost is $1,064,952 (Single Phase/One Fiscal Year estimated construction cost, refer to Bid Documents for multi-year phasing plans), $348,636 (Phase One performed during 2023, refer to Bid Documents for multi-year phasing plans), $520,820 (Phase Two performed during 2024, refer to Bid Documents for multi-year phasing plans), $347,600 (Phase Three performed during 2025, refer to Bid Documents for multi-year phasing plans). Bid documents, prepared by Dietz & Company Architects, Inc. will be available as of 12:00 Noon on April 3rd 2023, at the Selectboard's office, Town Hall, Room M20, 116 Main Street, South Hadley, Massachusetts 01075. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked "TOWN HALL MASONRY REPAIR PROJECT" The contract term shall be 120 days (for PHASE 1) from the date of award. The successful bidder will be required to furnish insurance, and a performance bond and a payment bond will be required (within 10 days from the date of notification of the contract award.). All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bid deposits, payable to the Town of South Hadley, shall be either in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company. All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 44 A-J. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 149, Sec. 26 to 27H. A refundable bid deposit in the form of a check or cash in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) shall be required for plans and specifications. Mail requests must be accompanied by a separate non-refundable check or cash in the amount of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00). Plan deposit and mail request checks shall be made payable to the Town of South Hadley. Plan and specification deposit will be returned to all Bidders of record upon return of plans and specifications in good condition within fourteen (14) days after the opening of Bids. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the "Instructions to Bidders" in the Project Manual and be delivered to the Selectboard's Office. Bidding procedures are governed by M.G.L. Chapter 149.
