Description

Generator for Master Pump Station The work consists of furnishing and installing a new 150KW (minimum) diesel-powered generator at the Master Pump Station located on Shell Belt Road. The work shall be a complete finished installation including the generator, the conduit and wiring, and connection to the existing electrical service. The contract work shall consist of the technical design services of a licensed electrician and/or registered electrical engineer to evaluate the electrical loads to be served by the generator, the configuration of the generator, one automatic transfer switch, one manual transfer switch, the arrangement and sizing of the conduit and wiring, and the set-up of the automatic transfer switch and all other switch gear. As part of the contract work, the contractor shall provide shop drawings including an electrical site plan, generator, wiring routing, and other details of the work. The contractor shall prepare all drawings, applications, and other materials to apply for and procure all necessary permits for the work and the completed installation shall meet all local codes and regulations. A Certificate of Use or other confirmation of approval shall be provided prior to final payment. Upon completion of the work, the contractor shall provide complete start-up testing and commissioning of the generator. Note that the contractor shall be required to review all existing electrical equipment, the operating voltage, and provide all electrical calculations required to size the new generator. The work and equipment shall conform to the technical specifications, except as approved in writing by the Owner. Prior to start of the work, the Owner will provide a site survey base drawing for the contractor's use in the work. Contractors bidding on this project must hold a current license from the State Licensing Board of General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama, 1975. The bidder must hold an "Electrical" major license classification. In addition, non-residents of the state, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. A bid bond or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount payable to The Utilities Board of the City of Bayou La Batre must accompany each bid. If a bid bond is provided, the form shall be that provided in the contract document booklet.
