Description | The lowest responsive bidder must have completed, or successfully complete, a Highway or Project-Specific prequalification through the Maine Department of Transportation to be considered for the award of this contract. Description: Federal Aid Project No. STP-1865(800), WIN 18658.00. Location: In Androscoggin County, project is located at the following intersections #1) Turner Street and Hampshire Street; #2) Center Street and North River Road; #3) Center Street and Lake Auburn Avenue; #4) Mt. Auburn Avenue and Turner Street; #5) Mt. Auburn Avenue and WalMart Entrance as well as along Mt. Auburn Avenue, Center Street and Hampshire Street. Outline of Work: The project includes work to connect each project intersection with fiber optics (dedicated fiber optics will be installed both aerially and in conduit based on area of project) back to the central traffic signal management system (ATMS.Now) at ATRC office @ 125 Manley Road, Auburn, to upgrade traffic signal cabinet hardware to allow for the communications and to make required ADA compliant enhancements (pedestrian equipment, curbs, ramps, warning fields, and crosswalk markings) at each project intersection and other incidental work. The Basis of Award Will Be Made to the Lowest Responsive and Responsible Bidder of The Base Bid and is in the Best Interest of the City of Auburn. Questions received after 12:00 noon on the Friday prior to bid opening will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact anyone else for clarification of Contract provisions; the Municipality will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Municipality and must be accompanied by a bid bond of 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, payable to Municipality of Auburn, as a Bid Guaranty. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each for 100% of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable federal and state laws, as well as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids. |
