Description

Sealed bids are hereby solicited for transportation construction work under this annual contract to be implemented as specific task order projects. Individual task orders issued under this contract will not exceed $3 million. Each project will involve the construction of specific scope of work depicted on construction plans of various complexity and may consist of but is not limited to excavation, grading, storm drainage, milling, asphalt and concrete paving, pavement marking, traffic signals, sanitary sewer, water mains and service connections, guardrail, fencing, handrails and railings, concrete curb and gutter, driveway entrances, concrete retaining walls, signage, seeding, mulching, restoration and other miscellaneous items required for roadways, parking lots, transportation, bus stops, traffic calming, trails, and pedestrian projects . The County may enter into contracts with the three (3) lowest bidders. Refer to Section A-22 which addresses how individual Task Orders will be awarded. This is a unit price Contract under which multiple Task Orders may be issued. The maximum single Task Order Amount under this Contract is $3 million. The duration of this Contract is one (1) year (365 calendar days). Fairfax County shall have the option to extend the Contract for four (4) one-year renewals with contractor concurrence. All bidders shall comply with Article A-21, Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution. Bidder's request for determination of eligibility to bid must be received by the County no later than fourteen (14) days before bids are due in accordance to Article A-18.E of Section A, information For Bidders. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Utilities Design & Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 463, Fairfax, VA 22035-0056, or by emailing DPWESCAPUDCDTransportationInquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov,and to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening thereof The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
