Swatara Creek Floodplain Restoration Phase II Project

The Board of Commissioners of the County of Schuylkill will receive sealed bids for the Swatara Creek Floodplain Restoration Phase II Project. The project includes floodplain restoration, stream restoration, and wetland creation along a section of Swatara Creek. The project is designed to restore habitat and reduce flooding risk in the Pine Grove community. The project area is located on public and private property in Pine Grove Borough and Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Work will involve grading of the floodplain, stream restoration, dam removal, wetland creation, erosion and sediment control plan implementation, and planting the site with native vegetation. All fill materials will be disposed of out of the floodplain and out of any wetlands. The bid shall include furnishing a performance bond for one hundred percent of the contract amount. Contractors must have and include in the bid package a demonstrated experience in knowledge and construction of successful stream restoration, wetland restoration, and bulk grading projects. Contractors are required to address all conditions of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP)/ United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) stream encroachment approvals and erosion and sediment control measures required by the Schuylkill Conservation District and PADEP Chapter 102 regulations. Contractors should be ready to start work by February 24, 2023. All work must be completed by May 15, 2024. Questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted via the "Clarifications" feature within PennBid no later than 5:00PM on January 20, 2023.
