WVU Montgomery Campus - New Electrical Services

This project shall convert the campus from a central electrical metering point to metering at each building. This will allow WVU IT to easily sell each building and make for a cleaner break in the utilities. Current campus service is a 12.47 kV underground feed from a single meter and switch station located behind Ratliff Hall on Fayette Pike to all (9) buildings listed on this project. Electrical connections will be made from the main switch panels to newly set AEP power poles via above ground transformers. Exceptions will be the Vining Library where a new AEP supplied pad mount transformer will be used. The COBE/Old Main section may require an above ground connection for COBE, and a pad mount transformer for Old Main. This will be detailed in the buildings section below. Existing conduit from the pad mount transformers currently in place, to the main panels in each building, need to be utilized wherever possible. Ratliff Hall, Maclin Hall, Conley Hall and Orndorff Hall will require the setting of power poles by the contractor. CT cabinets with meter bases and disconnects are required for each of the 9 buildings in this project. Use of copper wire is required. It is intended that the existing main panels will be utilized for this project.
