Park System Exterior Wayfinding and Signage Design

The County of Bucks is soliciting proposals for Park System Wayfinding and Signage Design from an independent contractor. Companies submitting proposals must have demonstrated experience in said services. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 4/10/2023 12:00 PM Scope of Work 3.1 Any products and services that are not specifically addressed in this RFP but are necessary to provide functional capabilities proposed by the proposer, must be included in the proposal. 3.2 Tour the parks system to note park character and design suitability. 3.3 Review programming approach with relevant County staff members and discuss implications for sign placement or content. 3.4 Discuss and confirm wayfinding strategies in view of current or planned changes, refinements, or expansions. 3.5 Evaluate opportunities for multidisciplinary wayfinding reinforcement (i.e., determine potential for relating signage design to site amenities, environmental design, etc.). Coordinate and work with the project committee. The Proposer will facilitate all project committee meetings and provide written meeting minutes to the committee for all meetings during the project. 3.7 Full signage design suites are required for (1) park entrances (2) park trails (3) recreational facilities (4) historic resources (5) nature centers and preserves. 3.8 Provide a minimum of at least two design alternatives or variations for review by the Project Committee. 3.9 The suite should include the following elements: a. Uniform symbology, text, color, and scale b. Color schemes c. A hierarchy of signs for each category d. County of Bucks logo e. The signs must be reproducible for future fabrication f. All signs must meet industry standards for vehicular clearance, reflectivity, lighting, safety standards as well as applicable federal and state DOT regulations g. Recommendations on materials which take into account maintenance and replacement costs. 3.10 Provide maps detailing location, placement, and quantity recommendations for each of the five categories. 3.11 Provide an overview of fabrication and installation guidelines and pricing estimates for the County to consider as the project moves forward. 3.12 Schedule at least one meeting to ensure that all comments, feedback, and changes are incorporated into the final documents.
