Design Services for New Chiller Plant Building K, Jail Generator and Platform

New Chiller Plant will include four (4) air-cooled chillers totaling 2,000 tons of capacity, a supplemental Thermal Energy Storage (TES) chilled water tank, and a dedicated 2500 kW emergency generator with 12,000-gallon diesel storage tank. This will provide an additional 900-tons of cooling capacity with redundancy to meet the new building loads and future growth of the main campus and reliability during any power outages. The new simplified design will be fitted with the latest control technology to utilize the best practices in energy management. This will minimize maintenance and environmental impacts while significantly reducing the likelihood of operational failure. Renovation of the existing Chiller Plant Building K shall include recommissioning of space vacated by existing chillers and equipment and include floodproofing of the existing structure. The Jail Generator and Platform will include the construction of an elevated platform in place of the existing ice farm to be removed as part of this project. This elevated platform is intended to meet all FEMA elevation requirements and provide ease of access for maintenance. The platform will support the above mentioned air-cooled chillers, chiller generator, and diesel storage tank as well as an additional 2500kW generator and 12,000-gallon storage tank.
