Description | Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Eureka, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot. This project includes 18 non-signalized intersections along the 6th and 7th Street corridors between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway. Project elements include corner extensions (bulbouts), sidewalk, high visibility crosswalk markings, thermoplastic markings, pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons, new signage, and radar feedback speed limit signs. Additionally, this project includes the H and I Corridors between 5th and Harris Streets. Project elements include installation of a buffered bike lane, corner extensions (bulbouts),sidewalk, high-visibility crosswalk markings, thermoplastic markings, pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons, new signage, signal timing improvements and radar feedback speed limit signs. This project is currently in design with construction planned to begin in late spring of 2023. This project was funded by grant funds from Caltrans through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). This Project is included in the City of Eureka's FY 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 27, 2022, Information regarding a design team and a general contractor is not available.
