Mastick Road Connector Rocky River Reservation

The Project involves construction of ±1,650 feet of a 10-foot wide all-purpose trail along Mastick Road between Eaton Road and Valley Parkway, excluding a portion of ±400 feet of the trail that was recently constructed as part of a 2020 Mastick Road Bridge replacement project by Cuyahoga County. The terrain of the project proves challenging and only a first-class outcome will be accepted. Work items shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Construction layout and staking by a Surveyor registered as such by the State of Ohio. Subsurface evaluations and retaining wall design. Design of alignment, profile, cross sections, drainage, select tree removal, cut and fill to meet current AASHTO bicycle facility guidelines and other applicable design criteria (as mentioned above). Design of structures (i.e. trail bridges) Coordination with the City of Fairview Park for general project coordination and any work proposed within the Mastick Road Right of Way and coordination with Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works for modifications to the newly constructed Mastick Road Bridge. Clearing and grubbing, including tree and stump removal. Excavation and embankment to achieve design alignment profile, including compaction testing and inspection. Undercut and stabilize unsuitable subgrade. Installation of subbase stone, asphalt pavement, retaining walls, bridges, and drainage improvements. Installation of accessible curb ramps. Installation of signage and striping. Installation of landscaping grass, shrubs and trees. Commitment to safety, cleanliness, respect of environment, project neighbors, and the public.
