Milton Street WWTP Solids Building Hot Water Piping Replacement Project

The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes but is not limited to: 1. Remove and replace sections of existing HVAC hot water piping that carries hot water to and from the boiler system to various heating units located throughout the solids building of the Milton St WWTP. 2. Piping to be replaced includes a combination of iron and copper piping ranging in size from 1-inch to 4-inches in diameter. 3. New hot water piping and associated appurtenances shall match the existing configuration in terms of pipe diameter, approximate location of fittings, utilization of wall penetrations, and location and orientation of valves and sensors. Valves shall be replaced as specified. Existing sensors, instrumentation, and other appurtenances shall be reconnected to the new piping as detailed. 4. Reuse of the existing pipe hangers is expected unless otherwise indicated. 5. New piping and appurtenances shall be painted, insulated and labeled to match the current configuration. 6. Testing and balancing of newly installed piping as specified. 7. Phasing and staging shall be implemented to minimize operational disruption during construction to the extent possible.
