INDOT - Call 231 - Intersect Improve With Added Turn Lanes and Str Replacement Project Description: Des. Nos. 1592223 and 1802827: This proposed project is located at SR 7 and begins approximately 500 feet south of County Road (CR) 275 West and extends north 0.57 mile terminating approximately 300 feet north of CR 300 W. The project area includes the intersections with CR 275 W, Country Squire Boulevard, the commercial entrance to Dollar General, and CR 300 W in Queensville, Jennings County, Indiana. The project area is more specifically located on the North Vernon United States Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5 Topographic Quadrangle Map in Sections 19 and 20 of Township 7 North, Range 8 East. The current proposed project will adjust the vertical alignment of SR 7 to meet stopping sight distance standards for a 50 mph design speed. Drives along the corridor will have their approaches adjusted to accommodate the change in vertical alignment and to meet acceptable INDOT Standards. The intersection of SR 7 and CR 300 W will be reconstructed to tie into the proposed vertical profile of SR 7. Pavement will be replaced or rehabilitated as feasible within project limits. The intersection of SR 7 with CR 275 W will be closed. It is anticipated that a cul-de-sac will be constructed on CR 275 W. A left turn lane will be installed on northbound SR 7 for a designated left turn lane to Country Squire Boulevard and to the Dollar General and the current substandard passing blister at Country Squire Boulevard will be removed. Additionally, the existing 60-foot long, five-foot tall, and five-foot wide reinforced concrete box culvert that is located on SR 7 just north of the intersection of CR 275 W (CV 007-040-26.88) will be replaced, lengthened, and upsized. A review of the USFWS database on May 7, 2019 did not indicate the presence of endangered bat species in or within a half mile of the project area. Some suitable bat summer habitat is within and adjacent to the project area. It is anticipated that approximately 0.42 acre of trees may be cleared as part of this project. Construction is anticipated to occur between February 2022 and November 2022. Temporary lighting may be used during construction, but all lighting will be directed away from potential bat roosts. No permanent lighting will be added or changed
