Description | Renovation of Kennedy Softball Field All Bids must be in compliance with Chapter 33 of Public Laws of 1977 and Chapter 43 of Public Laws of 2016. The Municipality reserves the right to hold bids for 60 days. Bidders are required to comply with the requirement of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. The Township Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The Township of Jefferson strongly encourages each potential bidder to familiarize themselves with the location. Bids must be enclosed, sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope as to the bids designation by bid # or type of equipment or service, vendor's name and address and be addressed to the Business Administrator, Municipal Building, 1033 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, 07849 Survey the infield to determine existing and proposed grades. 2. Remove the pitching rubber, home plate, bases and base anchors. 3. Remove all existing infield mix to the base or subsoil. Total estimated quantity to be removed would be approximately 175 Cubic Yards or 280 Tons. (Note: This material would be removed from the field and stockpiled for disposal by Jefferson Township or loaded into a Jefferson Township dump truck(s). This material would be good fill) 4. Mark the infield radius at 50' from the front of the pitching rubber. 5. With a sod cutter, remove all existing grass to a depth 12' back from the new infield radius of 50' 6. Regrade the infield radius to eliminate the elevated lip, removing all infield mix and supplying fresh, screened topsoil 7. Supply and install 'Big Roll' Kentucky Bluegrass/Tall Fescue sod around the entire infield radius. 8. Grade the subsoil to prepare for installation of new infield mix. 9. Supply and install approximately 8,000 SF of a Woven Geotextile fabric on the subsoil to prevent rock migration. 10.Supply and install 150 Tons of Best Top infield mix (or equivalent) to fill the entire infield cavity to a depth of approximately 3 inches. 11.Supply and install 75 Tons of DuraEdge 'Classic' infield mix (or equivalent) to cap the Best Top and bring to proposed finished grade. 12.Grade the entire infield with the ABI Force infield grader/groomer to meet proposed finished grades. 13.Supply and install a new 24" 4-Way Pitching Rubber at the correct height, distance and alignment. 14.Construct the pitching area (3'x8') with DuraPitch Professional Clay (or equivalent) to provide better wear 15.Supply and install a new 3" all rubber Home Plate at the correct height, distance and alignment. 16.Construct the batter's boxes (3'x6') and catcher's box (4'x4') with DuraPitch Professional Clay (or equivalent) to provide better wear tolerance. 17.Supply and install a new Breakaway Base Set, including new anchors, bases and plugs. (Note: 1st Base will be double base. The base set will be the Champro Concept 3000 breakaway system.) 18.Supply and topdress the infield with 2 Tons of Pro's Choice Conditioner. 19.Groom ready for play. 20.Cover the pitching area and home plate area with new 20' round tarps. (Note: The pitching area and home plate area should be covered and/or protected anytime the field is not being used |
