Description

The 2022 Bond Proposition A calls for: Elementary #9 - $41 million: The elementary project will be an approximate 105,000 SF two-story school in the Audubon development. The building will have an estimated capacity of 900 students ranging from Early Childhood/Pre-K to 4th Grade. Amenities at the school include a cafeteria with stage, a gymnasium, a library, an area dedicated for students with special needs, and several Large Group Instruction (LGI) areas including learning stairs and an outdoor learning center. Intermediate School #3 - $66 million: The intermediate project will be an approximate 135,000 SF two-story school at the Magnolia Parkway campus. The building will have an estimated capacity of 1,200 students in 5th and 6th grades. Amenities at the school will include a cafeteria, a 600-seat gymnasium, an outdoor covered P.E. area, a fine arts wing for band and choir, several LGI areas and an area dedicated for students with special needs. Junior High #3 - $85 million: The junior high project will be an approximate 185,000 SF two-story school across FM 1488 from the Magnolia Parkway campus. The building will have an estimated capacity of 1,200 students in 7th and 8th grades. Amenities at the school will include a cafeteria with stage and theater arts, two gymnasiums including a 600-seat competition gymnasium, a fine arts wing for band and choir, LGI rooms, an area dedicated for students with special needs, tennis courts, and a competition junior high football stadium. Expand CTE building space at both high schools (8,000 sq. ft) - $4.5 million Renovations to the existing Ag barn - $1.5 million Renovations to the NJROTC building (2, 400 sq. ft) - $1 million Land for future use - $10 million: prepare for additional elementary school, fourth intermediate and junior high campuses Roof replacement and repair- MJH and MHS ($4.3 million) HVAC replacement and repair - MJH and MHS ($1.15 million) Water and sewer plant replacement and repair - multiple locations ($600,000) Parking lot repair - MJH, MIS, Transportation West ($250,000) Campus renovations and upgrades - MHS, MWHS, SES, NSES and BBES ($3.7 million) Security - $2 million: Building safety upgrades As of September 7, 2022, funding is pending bond approval. A bond vote has been scheduled to take place on November 8, 2022.
