For-Mar Shingled Roof Replacements

Through this ITB, Genesee County ("the County") is soliciting bids from qualified contracts to replace roofs on two structures located at For-Mar, as requested by Genesee County Parks and Recreation Department. An attendance sheet will be provided and shall serve as the official document verifying attendance. Failure to attend this meeting shall result in disqualification of a Contractor's bid. The Genesee County Parks is seeking proposals for the replacement of the asphalt shingles on the Nature Center Roof and the Maintenance building roof (25' x 50' building). The Nature Center is located at 2142 N. Genesee Road, Burton MI 48509 and the maintenance building is located at 5285 Davison Road, Burton MI 485029. Both buildings are located at For-Mar Nature center with access off different roads (see project location map). The proposer shall replace all the asphalt shingles on the roof of the Nature Center Building AND the maintenance building, including new drip edge, synthetic or felt underlayment, water & ice shield, and an asphalt shingle with at least a 25-year warranty. Any plywood sheathing that is bad shall be replaced, per the unit cost included in the cost estimate, prior to the new asphalt shingle roof being installed. A unit price, per 4x8x3/4 sheet of plywood roof sheathing shall be included in the cost proposal. The proposer shall provide a complete and through description of the work and materials for the job. The blueprints attached to the RFP are for the purpose of describing the roofing system that is currently in place and the framing structure. The contractor is responsible for pulling a roofing permit from the City of Burton and following all permit requirements.
