Description

This bid targets the upgrade of building domestic hot-water (DHW) heaters to electric heat-pump water heaters (HPs). The key driver for this technology migration results from the benefits realized through improved efficiency, less maintenance, less operational risks, and transitioning heating equipment to renewably-sourced electricity. This bid covers the procurement of equipment over a range of sizes (50-200 gallon) and shipment to the University. 5-year contract will be formalized where approximately 60 units will be purchased the first year. Quantities for future years is not presently known. Labor is not part of this Bid the University is only purchasing the heat-pumps.
