Description | Adams County Juvenile Detection Center - HVAC Equipment Replacement and Addition of Smoke Control System Adams County is constructing a smoke control system within detention areas and replacing some of the existing HVAC equipment on the roof, of the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC), located at 200 N 52nd Street, Quincy, IL. The JDC is a single-story building with detention wings, administration areas, and other supporting spaces. HVAC equipment replacement includes HVAC rooftop units, roof mounted exhaust fans, and DX-based split systems with twin furnaces. Related electrical work includes disconnection of existing equipment and extension of circuits to connect to new equipment. The new smoke control system work includes installation of new supply and exhaust fans, new ceiling-mounted grilles, vertical masonry duct chases, duct systems within existing attic space, demolition of existing ceilings and installation of new ceilings, upgrade of the existing fire alarm system and installation of new devices to enact control of the smoke control system, and electrical work to accommodate new fans. All work will be sequenced 3 consecutive phase to accommodate the Owner's operations, which will remain continuous throughout the work; occupants will be relocated to accommodate installation of new smoke control systems within existing smoke compartments/detention wings. Protection of existing surfaces is required, as is demolition and removal of select building materials. |
