Description

Scope Summary: This study will create a comprehensive understanding of existing waste management practices where the University currently has over 80 waste related contracts with over 40 vendors performing these tasks. One desire is to support the school's initiative of "One U" which is working together to tackle big issues. With this in mind, this study will include ways to more synergistically work across districts and departments, including the University of Utah main campus, U of U Health System, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), food services (i .e organic waste), and/or other University Auxiliary Partners. The objective of this work is to bring together stakeholders and identify opportunities to improve these services while making our practices more sustainable. The selection shall be under the Value Based Selection method. The Solicitation for Architects / Engineers document, including the submittal requirements and the selection criteria and schedule, will be available on Bid Sync. A representative from each interested prime firm is required to attend. During the meeting, a presentation will be made to describe the overall scope of work and intended schedule. Interested firms may ask questions and request clarification about the project and the procurement process. Sub consultants are invited to attend this meeting but it is not mandatory for them. THE PRIME FIRMS ABSENCE FROM THE PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING AND/OR FAILURE TO REGISTER PRECLUDES PARTICIPATION AS A SUBMITTING FIRM ON THIS PROJECT. Submittals shall include the name, phone, email , and fax number of the firm's contact person who should receive information during the selection process, should direct contact become necessary. THE UNIVERSITY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIFFICULTIES, TECHNICAL OR OTHERWISE, ASSOCIATED WITH THE ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION PROCESS. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all submittals or to waive any formality or technicality in any submittal in the interest of the University.
