Description

Oconee County Schools is seeking proposals for a 12 classroom addition to Malcom Bridge Elementary School. The new 15,000 s.f. one-story addition to existing Malcom Bridge Elementary School consists of steel frame structure on concrete foundations that will be erected on the Northwest side of existing school building. Work will include, but is not limited to, site work, concrete flat work and site retaining wall, structural steel, exterior masonry, metal and TPO roofing, painting, finishes, metal and wood doors, and hardware installation, toilet partitions, installation of plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, electrical systems and replacement of the existing intercom system. The anticipated date of substantial completion is June 22, 2024. All proposals accepted must be in sealed envelopes marked with your company name and "MALCOM BRIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ADDITION". Offerors shall provide three (3) hard copies and one (1) digital copy on a flash drive of the entire proposal package. For mailing purposes, please address your proposal to Oconee County School District, 34 School Street, Watkinsville, GA 30677, Attn: Fred Ricketson. For Inquiries Regarding the Proposal Documents: All communications concerning these documents must be submitted in writing to Oconee County School District (OCSD) Operations Division by email to biddocse.lpbatlanta.com. Any Offeror submitting a Proposal must procure a set of the Construction Documents from the office of: Lindsay Pope Brayfield & Assocs., Inc., Architects 344 West Pike Street, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 770-963-8989 Contract, if awarded, will be on the basis stated in the Instructions to Offerors (Section 00-21-16). No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after proposal opening, except as otherwise expressly provided by the applicable law. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond made payable to Oconee County School District, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal lump sum contract price (exclusive of Alternates and Unit Prices). The successful Offeror will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond acceptable to the Oconee County School District in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and executed by a Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of "A" with a financial size of VI "6" or better. Bonds must be accompanied by letter stating bonding company's current rating for verification prior to acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor agreement. Additionally, Oconee County School District requests that all responses be submitted in electronic form via flash/thumb drive. PDF format is acceptable unless otherwise stated. Contractor and Subcontractors shall require the Attorney-in-Fact who executes bonds on behalf of sureties to attach a certified, current copy of his Power of Attorney. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond will be required for the following Subcontractors: The Site Work Subcontractor, the Fire Protection Subcontractor, the Electrical Subcontractor, the Plumbing Subcontractor, the Mechanical Contractor and the Roofing Subcontractor. All interested parties are required to attend. Failure to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference shall result in disqualification of the Contractor. Oconee County School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any technicalities and informalities in procedure. All Offerors must provide proof of previous job experience within thirty percent (30%) of the cost of this project.
