Grit Dewatering Screw Conveyor Tail Bearing Replacement

The Contractor shall replace tail bearing assemblies on three grit dewatering screw conveyors at the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The tail bearing assemblies shall include a mechanical seal assembly and new stub tail shaft. • The Contractor shall procure the tail assemblies and flushing water control devices from a fabricator designated by the District and install both on each of the three existing Grit Dewatering Screw Conveyors. • The Contractor shall tie into existing conduit of each existing Zero Speed Switch Panel and install galvanized rigid conduit and control wiring to each new solenoid valve on the plant (W3) flushing water supply to each corresponding seal assembly. Control wires to be terminated at both locations by Contractor. • The Contractor shall also run galvanized pipe, tying into an existing W3 water supply pipe, and connecting to the flushing and quench portals on each of the mechanical seal assemblies. The quench water discharge (drain) shall also be piped open ended to the top of each trough.
