Description | Owner reserves the right to reject Bid as non-responsible if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the Work described therein All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing only. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer, in response to such questions, will be issued by Addenda to all plan holders registered with the Issuing Office. Questions received less than 5 working days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Engineer's email address is David.overby@kimley-horn.com. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 5 percent of Bidders maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternatives) and in the form of a certified check, bank money order, or a Bid Bond (on the form attached) issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraphs 6.01 of the General Conditions. Bid security of other Bidders whom Owner believes do not have a reasonable chance of receiving the award will be returned within 7 days after the Bid opening. 1. The Work consists of selective demolition of designated portions of the existing, offstage left and off-stage right sound walls within the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium to create a recess in each wall. The new recesses will be used to house new audio equipment (furnished under separate contract) which will be hung from the new structural steel beams installed on the existing downstage production support framing. 2. The Work includes construction and finishing of new infill stud and gyp board framing to provide a backing and a base within the new recesses in the sound wall panels. 3. The Work includes procurement, fabrication, and installation of new structural steel beams that will be used for support of the new audio equipment. |
