Description

**As of June 17, 2022, project only received one non-conforming incomplete bid .No definited date for rebid** The project includes the Work to physically verify the materials of one hundred thirty-eight (138) water service lines located throughout the Village. Addresses where the Work will be performed will be provided with the final Contract Documents. The Contractor will perform potholing at a minimum of two (2) locations per service line and at a minimum distance of 18 inches from the curb stop. One pothole shall be excavated on each side of the curb stop to verify the pipe materials. Out of the 138 locations, 5 will require additional potholing and material verification at the corporation stop. A total of 281 excavations and associated material verifications will be completed. To the extent feasible, the potholes should be located within the green belt of each service line. Pavement removal and replacement should be minimized. The anticipated depth of pipe is approximately 6 feet below grade, but may be up to 8 feet. The Contractor should prepare for sandy soils and shallow groundwater in low lying areas. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating Work in the public Right of Way with the Village DPW staff, providing suitable backfill, handling and disposal of unsuitable spoils, and complete surface restoration of disturbed areas. The Owner will be responsible for locating curb stops and corporation stops for the Contractor, and coordinating Contractor's Work on private property with the property owners. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
