Description | Greenville County School District prequalifies roofing companies through a Questionnaire that they submitted at the beginning of the year - only these companies are allowed to bid. This project involves a roof recover and/or replacement of approximately 189,920 square feet of existing gravel surface built-up roof system at Greer High School. Included in this project is the replacement of the existing storefront system at the Art Room. At Roof Areas A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, A11 and A12 the contractor will remove and properly dispose of the existing aggregate, cant strips, and base flashing as required to provide a smooth substrate for the application of the new recover roof systems. At Roof Areas B1, B2, B3 and B4; the contractor will remove and discard the existing built-up roof system to include membrane, roofing felts, asphalt, insulation, and bituminous flashing down to the existing cementitious wood fiber deck. At all roof areas the contractor will remove and properly dispose the following: 1. Existing metal flashing, including lead flashing, scupper liners, expansion joints covers, coping and counter flashing. 2. Existing gutters and downspouts. Existing pipe flashing including lead flashings and pitch pans. 3. Abandoned penetrations in the deck as marked on the drawings or on the roof. At Roof Area A4, the contractor will remove and properly dispose of existing drain bowl assemblies. All roof areas Existing curbs to be raised to a minimum finished flashing height of 8- inches above the finished roof. Existing gas lines to be scraped, primed and painted. PVC condensation lines to be replaced with copper condensation lines. Water test all internal roof drains, scuppers and downspouts prior to any work and report any blockage or impediments to drainage to Greenville County Schools and Raymond Engineering, submit pre-work water test results to Designer for record. Inquiries and comments shall be delivered to the Procurement Department no later than May 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM EDT. Verbal questions/comments shall not be addressed at any time. Roof Areas A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, A11 and A1; furnish and install new 80-mil adhered TPO roof system, adhered cover boards and mechanical fastening enhancements as specified. At Roof Areas B1, B2, B3 and B4; furnish and install new 80-mil TPO roof system, adhered cover board and two layers of adhered isocyanate insulation as specified. At Roof Area A4, furnish and install new drain bowl assemblies to match the existing size as specified. At all roof areas furnish and install the following: - Existing curbs to be raised to a minimum finished flashing height of 8- inches above the finished roof. -Extend soil vent pipes to a minimum finished flashing height of 8-inches above the new roof. - New wood blocking at roof eaves and rake edges to match the level of the new roof. |
