Description

Landscaping, lawn maintenance, trash removal and other related work as described in the Invitation to Bid. The proposal consists of the following: Lawn, landscaping care and maintenance of designated Newtown Borough facilities and areas; removal of fallen trees and/or branches; removal and relocation cut grass and pruned landscaping, trees and bushes; trash removal from designated Newtown Borough facilities, areas and bins along the various streets and other Borough areas once per day, five (5) days per week, excepting Tuesdays, at times designated by Borough. Minimum specific equipment must be provided for performing the work in Newtown Borough. A minimum number of hand laborers must be provided; however, unless otherwise agreed by Borough, one laborer shall be considered sufficient to perform the work. The contract term shall commence on January 1, 2023, and shall terminate on December 31, 2023, subject to additional renewal terms in the sole discretion of Borough Council, as stated in the Invitation to Bid. Bids must be on forms furnished by Borough. This proposal is NOT subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. The successful bidder must ensure that its employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, or age. The Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to Newtown Borough. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by Borough. The successful bidder will be required to provide liability insurance with required minimum coverage limits naming Newtown Borough, and its officials, employees, and agents as additional insured; and will be required to otherwise comply with the contract bid documents. Newtown Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the best interest of the Borough.
