Description | The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the proposal accepted. All windows, doors, and openings shall be secured by a minimum of 1/2 " exterior structural wood sheathing, cut to fit the exact opening (maximum 1/4 " tolerance) and held in place with a minimum of 1 5/8" utility screws (or sheetrock screws) every 8" continuous around entire borders. Exterior wooden surfaces other than decay-resistant woods shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment to match the exterior color of the structure. 2. The lot must be cleared and cleaned of all trash, litter, grass, weeds, and debris to include all broken glass, building materials, nails, screws, white goods, appliances, and offensive substances as defined by the City Code of Ordinances. 3. Cleaning and clearing inside of building prior to securing as to prevent further damage to the building (e.g., mold, mildew, and unhealthful or offensive substance discharge). 1. General: The contractor shall be a licensed contractor in the City of Biloxi and shall obtain necessary permits from the City to perform the proposed work. 2. Execution: a. The contractor shall execute the proposed work in a diligent and orderly manner. b. The entire site shall be fenced with a temporary fence that can be closed when work is not in progress. c. If in the opinion of the City Engineer or Building Official, the contractor is not operating in a safe and proper manner, he can stop demolition until necessary changes in operation are affected. d. No burning will be permitted on the site. e. No materials shall be sold on the site. f. All concrete slabs, concrete footing, and brick and block wall below or above ground level shall be removed and ground raked clean and leveled. g. The lot must be cleared & cleaned of all trash, litter, grass, weeds & debris to include all broken glass, building materials, nails, screws, white goods, appliance, & offensive substances as defined by the City Code of Ordinances. 3. Disposal: The contractor shall dispose of all materials and debris generated by demolition at his own expense. 4. Removal: The contractor may at his option relocate a building or buildings to another site in the City of Biloxi provided he has a permit to do same. 5. Storage: No materials or debris will be stored on the site after the contract time has expired. 6. All arrangements for discontinuing of utilities from buildings shall be by Contractor |
