Description | The Project consists of constructing a 52' x 48' Pre-Engineered Fabric Salt/Sand Storage Shed and 6-inch Concrete Pad (562 square yards) including grading, 2' x 2' x 6 ft Concrete Block wall, wooden fence with gates and cleanup along with all appurtenant work complete and ready for service, including temporary facilities, and erosion control as required and in conformance with the Contract Documents No bid will be considered unless sealed and accompanied by a bidder's bond naming City of Peculiar as obligee, or a certified check payable to City of Peculiar, equal to at least (5%) of the amount of the bid, which shall be returned or forfeited as set forth in the Information for Bidders. The City of Peculiar reserves the right to retain the deposits of the two lowest bids for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. The Work is to be commenced within 60 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Substantial Time of Completion including testing and post inspection and ready for use by Owner is to be 120 Calendar Days from the date of Notice to Proceed, and the Final Completion date is to be 150 Calendar Days from the date of Notice to Proceed. Prevailing Wages. Minimum wage rates for this contract shall be prevailing wage rates as determined by the Industrial Commission of Missouri. The wage rates are set forth in the contract documents and are to be considered as a part of this Invitation to Bid. Bidders are informed that pursuant to Section 285.530 RSMo as a condition of the award of any contract in excess of five thousand dollars ($5000), the successful bidder shall, by sworn affidavit and provision of documentation, affirm its enrollment and documentation, affirm its enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection to the contracted services. Successful bidders shall also sign an affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien in connection to the contracted services. Bidders are informed that the project is subject to the requirements of Section 292.675 RSMo, which requires all contractors or subcontractors doing work on the project to provide, and require its on-site employees to complete, a ten (10) hour course in construction safety and health approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations that is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. If on-site employees had not previously completed such training, the training must be completed within sixty (60) days of the date, work on the project commences. On-site employees found on the worksite without documentation of the required training shall have twenty (20) days to produce such documentation. Only Missouri laborers and laborers from nonrestrictive states are allowed by law to be employed on Missouri's public works projects when the unemployment rate exceeds 5% for two consecutive months. Nonrestrictive states are as follows: Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. MBE and WBE bidders are encouraged to bid. City of Peculiar is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
