Description | The City of Scottsdale is seeking submittals for the reconstruction of the northern most one third (1/3) of taxiway A and construction of a new runup area at the Scottsdale Airport. Engineer's Estimate: $5,000,000 - $5,200,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. WT Reference No. 2121JA241 COS PROJECT NUMBER AI02A Based on information provided by Client, the project will consist of the reconstruction/rehabilitation of Taxiway A North at Scottsdale Airport. The approximate length of this section of the taxiway, as measured Google Earth software, is about 3,800 ft. The section is identified as TWASC-30A on the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Airport Pavement Management System (APMS). It extends from about north of cross taxiway A10 to the north end of the taxiway. It was constructed in 1982 and it received a 1-inch PFC overlay in 2003. Based on a 2015 subsurface exploration performed by Speedie and Associates, the pavement section on this section of the taxiway consists of an asphalt concrete (AC) layer ranging in thickness from about 5" to 6.5" over and aggregate base course (ABC) ranging in thickness from about 7" to 8".
