Water Treatment Facilities, Exterior Wall Repair and Repointing

The extent of work on this project is the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements in Boone, Iowa under one contract with two Divisions (if both are awarded) generally described as follows: Division 1 – Water Plant Building: Work consists of masonry restoration, creating new movement joints, installing a new insulated furring system on the outside of the exposed precast beam at the top of the north facing wall, and replacing north wall windows with aluminum storefront type windows, or as an alternate, translucent panels. Masonry restoration will include repointing cracked mortar joints inside and outside of wall as designated on plan, replacing cracked face shells with new masonry units, and applying masonry sealer to north and west walls of the building. Division 2 – Pump Station Building: Work consists primarily of masonry restoration and creating new movement joints. Repair cracks in mortar joints, replace cracked face shells, cut and apply joint sealant to new control joints in masonry walls, replace broken glass block window, and apply masonry sealer to entire structure after masonry repair work is complete.
