Description | As of April 28, 2023, an architect has been selected for this project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is issued by the City of Miami Beach, Florida (the City), as the means for prospective Proposers to submit proposals for the Citys consideration in evaluating qualifications to select a firm with whom it may negotiate an agreement for the purpose noted herein. The Ocean Drive Corridor Improvement Project, General Obligation Bond (GOB) Project Number 31, and Lummus Park Enhancement (the Project), encompasses the reconstruction of Ocean Drive from 5th to 15th Street. Work required under this RFQ must comply with the Art Deco Cultural District ("ADCD") Vision Plan (Appendix D) and includes developing 100% biddable and constructible plans for Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th Street and all intersecting roads and the transitional area connecting Ocean Drive with Lummus Park. The firm shall also obtain all necessary permits to start construction, including approval from the Historic Preservation Board. The Project's scope shall include the implementation of a new streetscape, including landscape with irrigation, that integrates the existing elements, and the development of walkable areas which will increase connectivity and the satisfaction of functional aspects of access, all while protecting its character and history. Moreover, the scope will also include the development of 30% plans for the enhancement of Lummus Park, including securing approvals from the City's Historic Preservation Board and developing a phasing and implementation plan for Lummus Park. The purpose of this RFQ is to select a firm for architectural design services for the Project, that will provide complete design and construction documents including a feasibility study and master plan for Ocean Drive, 30% plans for Lummus Park enhancement, and obtain Historic Preservation Board approval.
