Description

Work includes watermain replacement along Huber Drive and Johnson Street from Vandalia Street to Ida Street including 1,000 LF of 6-inch AWWA C900 DR-18 PVC watermain piping; casing pipe with casing spacers and end seals for watermain piping at sewer lateral crossings; road crossings, pavement and driveway removal and replacement; full height granular backfill; fittings; mechanical restraints; tapping sleeves and valves; gate valves with valve boxes and lids; fire hydrant assemblies; blowoff assemblies; new water meter pits and service connections; granular bedding; clearing; grading; seed and straw; erosion control; traffic control; flagmen; testing; disinfection; all appurtenances and minor details necessary to make the completed improvements fully operational with the project plans and specifications. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Sum. The bid security shall be either certified check, cashier's check, bank money order or bid bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Hereinafter this bid security shall be referred to as the bid bond. Submit one copy of your Bid on the Bid Form provided. Bidders may supplement this form as appropriate. Successful bidders shall be required to observe Illinois Public Act 77-1552 and the Illinois Department of Human Rights and Illinois Human Rights Commission Rules pertaining to Equal Employment Opportunity as provided for in paragraphs 2-101, et seq., Article II, Chapter 68, of the Illinois Revised Statutes; and comply with paragraph 271 of Chapter 48 of the Illinois Revised Statutes concerning the employment of citizens of the State of Illinois; and comply with Chapter 48, Sections 39s-1 through 39s12, of the Illinois Revised Statutes, as amended, known as the Prevailing Wage Determination, as issued by the Illinois Department of Labor. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner.
