Description | As of June 26, 2023 project is still in Schematic Design. Project Design Development is scheduled to begin in August 2023. There is no firm schedule available yet for bidding and construction. The Previous solicitation is included below for reference Project Estimate $80,000,000.00 Insurance Required No Bid Bond Required No Orange County Public Schools is planning to replace and/or renovate the existing Orange Technical College, Mid-Florida Campus located at 2900 W. Oak Ridge Rd., Orlando, Florida 32809. Primary programs will include Industrial, Transportation, Manufacturing, Culinary, Hospitality and Adult Education. This project will provide improved facilities which meet Orange County Public School Design Guidelines as applicable and assigned educational program requirements. Major elements of the project include: 1. Pre-Construction and construction services for an Orange Technical College, Mid-Florida Campus building(s) of approximately 350,000 gross square feet and site package for the entire 44 acres approximate. Planned students will include both adult and OCPS dual enrollment high school students. Pre-Construction services would consist of assisting the architect in existing building assessment and reporting, and development of estimates for a minimum of three (3) site plan options. 2. Career/technical and apprenticeship programs which may include: Adult Basic Education, Advanced Automotive & Collision Technology, Aviation Airframe Mechanics, Automotive Service Technology, Commercial Vehicle Driving, Diesel Systems, Drafting/Computer-Aided Modeling, Forklift, Fundamental/Foodservice Skills, Heavy Equipment Operations, Industry Services/Lodging Operations, Machining Technologies, Mechatronics Technology 3. Student and administrative spaces which may include: testing labs, seminar rooms, administrative offices, student services, student commons, child care, campus store, conference and assembly spaces. 4. General scope items within the site package may include but are not limited to parking areas, bus loop/drop off, exterior canopies, outdoor instructional spaces, exterior walkways, underground utilities, storm water retention, landscaping, irrigation and site lighting. This work includes but is not limited to pre-construction and construction services related to this project required to deliver to the owner a safe, finished and fully functioning Technical College facility within the estimated construction budget. A post-secondary entity, Valencia College, occupies a portion of the campus for the Central Florida Fire Academy program. This entity is scheduled for relocation in 2024. The existing Orange Technical College Mid-Florida Campus, located at 2900 W. Oak Ridge Rd., Orlando, Florida 32809 will remain an occupied campus during construction and phasing will be an integral part of the project. Swing space/spaces will likely be needed and planned. The estimated construction cost is in the range of $65M - $80M. Target Schedule: A/E Notice to Proceed: Spring 2021 Design Completion Date: Winter 2022 Construction Notice to Proceed Date: Summer 2023 Substantial Completion date: Summer 2025 The School Board of Orange County, Florida is interested in entering into a contract with a qualified firm to provide Construction Management at Risk Services as outlined in the contract to be entered into, the form of said contract being attached hereto for Orange Technical College, Mid-Florida Campus Project, listed below in the Scope of Work. The CM is responsible for the successful, timely, and economical completion of the construction Project.
