Description | The Project consists of force main replacement on Lynn Street, Turner Avenue, Beach Street, and Island Avenue. All bids must be accompanied by a bank check, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond payable to the Owner for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of bid. A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project. Questions can be emailed to the Engineer until seven (7) days, by end of business, prior to bid. All questions received after the date and time noted will not be answered. Only written responses will be considered approved for project information. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set for in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The City of Freeport reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the biddings. Bids may be held by the City of Freeport for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids. By submitting a bid, each bidder expressly agrees and promises that he/she/it will comply with all applicable ordinances, statutes and regulations, including but not limited to, the equal employment and affirmative action provisions pertaining to public contracts by Section 2-105 of the Illinois Human Rights Act (codified as Paragraph 2-105 of Chapter 775 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, as amended).
