Description

This project consists of: Replacing existing brick pavers and installing a concrete base along the northern margin of Old Street and the western margin of Anderson Street. The Project has an expected duration of 110 days. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to City of Fayetteville in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates).Bidders must submit an acceptable bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check as Bid Security with their Bid pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-129. The acceptable bid bond must be issued by a surety legally authorized to do business in North Carolina and meet the requirements of the General Conditions. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.Only responses set forth in an Addendum will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Responses to questions are not part of the Contract Documents unless set forth in an Addendum that expressly modifies or supplements the Contract Documents. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner also reserves the right to waive all minor Bid informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work. Any bid including any unit or lump sum bid price that is unbalanced to the potential detriment of the City will be considered irregular and may be rejected. Construct Work as described in the Contract Documents. 1. Provide the materials, equipment, and incidentals required to make the Project completely and fully operable. 2. Provide the labor, equipment, tools, and consumable supplies required for a complete Project. 3. Provide the civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and all other Work required for a complete and operable Project. 4. Test and place the completed Project in operation. 5. Provide the special tools, spare parts, lubricants, supplies, or other materials as indicated in the Contract Documents for the operation and maintenance of the Project. 6. The Contract Documents do not indicate or describe all Work required to complete the Project. Additional details required for the correct installation of selected products are to be provided by the Contractor and coordinated with the Engineer 1. Removing Existing Brick Pavers and concrete bands, stack on pallets provided by contractors, COF shall pick up pallets of brick pavers and pallets will remain the property of the City. 2. Installing Concrete Base, Concrete Bands, and new Brick Pavers If the goal of 10% participation by small disadvantaged businesses is not achieved, the Bidder shall provide the following documentation to the Owner of his good faith efforts.
