Roof and Mechanical Unit Replacement for Buildings 7, 8 and 9 at Springstead High School

The work includes: 1. Low Slope Roof Replacement for Building 7: a. Demolition: Remove existing coping and base flashings, along with the existing membrane system down to the existing cementitious wood fiber roof decks. Once the roof deck is exposed, repair utilizing unit cost allowances. The roof area shall be cleaned of all debris, in preparation for the new roof system. b. New Roof System Installation: Install new non-corrosive edge metal along with new base flashings. Install a separator sheet over the cementitious wood fiber roof deck, and fasten a Modified Bitumen (MB) venting base sheet and preliminary roof. Fully adhere 4 1/2" of non-tapered rigid insulation to the sloped roof deck, along with a 1/4" gypsum cover board. A new 60 mil PVC single ply shall then be fully adhered to complete the system. 2. Mechanical Unit Replacement: a. Remove and replace all RTU’s (Roof top units) as shown on Matern’s drawings and specifications. Flash all new roof curbs as shown in A/R/C’s details provided. 3. Miscellaneous Conditions a. Roof Drains: Replace all and connect to existing plumbing below deck. b. Scuppers: install new scuppers at existing locations as shown in the details and plans provided. c. Roof Access Ladder Guard: Install where shown in the details provided. d. Gravity Vents: Install and flash new gravity vents where shown in the plans provided. e. Electrical Conduit: Install and flash new pedestal mounts for miscellaneous electrical outlets and sensors as shown in the plans provided. f. Hydrants: Install and flash new rooftop hydrant pedestals as shown in the plans and details provided.
