Crystal Lake Dam Improvements

The project shall consist of constructing a concrete cutoff wall and footing upstream of an existing stone cutoff wall to reduce the amount of seepage around the left side of the dam. A drain/filter will be constructed on the downstream side of the stone cutoff wall to capture and control seepage around the left side of the dam. This work will require the construction of a cofferdam and filter curtain. The downstream left side of the dam will be stabilized by removing 30 inches of material and replacing it with rip-rap. The existing slide gate structure will be replaced. Incidental construction will include removing existing wood posts and curb, removing and replacing a chain link fence, adding an entrance vehicle gate, erosion control and turf establishment.
