Description | The U.S Forest Service WO-PPS Job Corps Support Branch has a requirement for the disposal of hazardous materials for Schenck Job Corps, Pisgah Forest, NC. Removal of fire ignition devices containing hazardous materials. Schenck Job Corps experienced significant damage during tropical Storm Fred in August 2021. The Advanced Wildland Firefighting “Fire Cache” was flooded during the event and resulted in fire ignition devices, containing hazardous material, getting damaged and requiring disposal. The contractor shall remove the material and dispose of it in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. It should be noted that Schenck Job Corps does not actively generate hazardous waste and as such, does not have an active EPA ID number for waste disposal. Schenck Job Corps would require contractor assistance in obtaining a Short-Term generation Event from The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NC DEQ) for this onetime clean-out. |
