Description | The work consists of the following: Construction of a New Multipurpose Building at Peconic Dunes County Park including but not limited to: Structural System installation, roof construction, interior construction for new kitchen space, seating areas, and exterior concrete / wood deck. This Project is to be bid as a single prime project. Bidders shall submit with their bids, a separate sealed list that names each subcontractor that the bidder will use to perform work on the contract, and the agreed-upon amount to be paid to each as applicable, for: (a) plumbing and gas fitting (i.e., Plumbing Work), (b) steam heating, hot water heating, ventilating and air conditioning apparatus (i.e., HVAC Work which includes fire sprinkler) and (c) electric wiring and standard illuminating fixtures (i.e., Electrical Work). The apparent low bidder subcontract information will be opened and read aloud at the bid opening. Bids for this contract shall be submitted in a separate sealed envelope with the name of the contract clearly noted on the outside of the envelope. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured. E-MAILED BIDS WILL BE CONSIDERED UNRESPONSIVE Awards will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder in conjunction with Section A4-14 of the Suffolk County Administrative Code establishing an optional ten percent (10%) local (Nassau/Suffolk) preference program for Suffolk County contracts Any questions regarding this project shall be directed to Kenneth Phalen, R.A. at 631-852-4222. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the bid or bids which in its judgment will be for the best interest of the Owner. Any bid which contains any omissions, alterations of form, additions or alternates not called for, or any qualifications, erasures or corrections or which does not contain a price for each of the items in the bid form or in which any of the prices are obviously unbalanced, or which fails to conform to the regulations stated herein, may be disregarded and rejected as non-responsive except that the Owner may waive any defects or irregularities. Any bids which are submitted or received after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids will be rejected. |
