Design and Construction Inspection Services for CR157 (New Karner Road) Highway Improvement Project

The intent of these specifications is to furnish information to responsible proposers for the purpose of obtaining proposals to retain a NYS Licensed engineer to provide complete design and construction inspection services as outlined in Section 4: Scope of Services. The project will address pavement condition, safety, delays, and ADA and multi-model accessibility provisions where practical on County Route 157, New Karner Road, from US-20 to Watervliet Shaker Road, in the City of Albany and Towns of Colonie and Guilderland. Intersection improvements will be evaluated at Washington Avenue Extension (SR 910D) & at Albany St. A roundabout should be seriously considered at the Washington Ave. Extension intersection. Filter strips should be replaced, these were installed based on the SWPPP for the previous project. The design engineer will also prepare all required permits, including any environmental permits (e.g. NYSOPRHP, NYSDEC, US ACOE, SEQR etc.) and NYSDOT Highway Work Permits required to complete the project.
