Description

All Bids must be submitted on Proposal Form #95 prescribed and approved by the State Board of Accounts. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified or cashier's check in the amount of at least 10% of the total price bid. Said check or bond is to be made payable to the Treasurer of Benton County. All bids must comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to public contracts. The estimate of quantities of materials to be furnished under these specifications as called for in the legal advertisement The Board of County Commissioners shall not be bound to purchase any specified quantity of materials or supplies. Actual quantities of materials furnished by the Contractor shall be computed according to the United States Standard measures and in accordance with well-organized engineering practices. All materials, which are specified, to be measured by the ton will be measured based on a ton of 2,000 pounds. All materials for which measurements are obtained by weight shall be weighed on scales approved by the State Bureau of Weights and Measures. Unless all bids are rejected, an award of the contract will be made by the Commissioners, as soon after opening of the bids as practical, to the best and the most responsible bidder. All bids received after filing date will be returned unopened. 1. Diesel Fuel: 68,000 gallons of Premium Diesel and/or equivalent on-road fuel and 1-K Kerosene to blend and 22,000 gallons of Dieselex-4 and/or equivalent off-road fuel and #1 Heater Oil to blend. Bidders on Diesel will state the price per gallon, using the transport load or tank wagon price effective on the day of delivery. 2. Gasoline: 10,000 gallons or less super unleaded with ethanol to be stored a supplier's facilities with access to County Highway Dept. at all times. 1. Crushed Stone: 60,000 tons or less. Crushed limestone shall conform to Indiana State Highway Commission standard specifications of most recent date. For road construction, size 73, 53, 53/2, 1, 2, 5, BLST, 8, 9, 11, 12, CA 16, (3/8), R.R., #4, Revetment Rip Rap, CR Run, (8,000) tons or Jess of size 12 stone must be made available when Chip and Sealing. The price submitted by the bidder must include loading onto trucks at quarry. Also, price submitted by the bidder must be delivered price to County Farm, CR 200S/350E, or various locations in the County. 2. Gravel and Sand: 50,000 tons or less screened and/or pit run materials loaded onto our trucks at quarry. Also, price of materials delivered to County Farm at CR 200S/350E. 3. Bituminous Materials: 600,000 gallons or less of the following grades of emulsions: AE90, AElS0, AE300, AEPL (Dust Oil) AEP, AE300S, RS2, and Dustay. Hot Mix nearest to job for travel time & cost: 9, 11 & 12 Surface, 8 & 9 Base, 8 & 9 Binder, 4 & 5 Base. Bid in Place: 9, 11 & 12 Surface, 8 & 9 Binder, 8 & 9 Base, 4 & 5 Base. Bidder to bid delivered price, furnishing portable storage tank of not less than 10,000 gallons with heater at the request of the County Highway Supervisor. The Benton County Highway Department does not pay freight charges on returned products due to unforeseeable inclement weather or breakdown of equipment. The Benton County Highway Department requires three hours of unloading time without demurrage charges. The Board of County Commissioners of Benton County, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
