Description | SCOPE OF WORK A. Maintain, retrofit, and repair stormwater management devices on Calvert County Government owned property or right of ways or both. B. Accelerate miscellaneous Calvert County Government capital projects as directed by Calvert County Government which are in the best interest of Calvert County Government, e.g., capital project work that requires stormwater management construction or repair or both. Construction may include submerged gravel wetlands (See Attachment A), micro-bio-retentions, pocket ponds, sand filters, or other approved devices. Plans shall be provided for aforementioned devices prior to construction. 1) Engineering specifications and drawings for design construction shall be provided by Calvert County Government. C. Trees All trees in the stormwater device and appurtenances shall be removed. The stump shall be removed, and the earth shall be recompacted within the stump hole at the Project Manager’s discretion. Cleaning 1) All leaves, brush, sticks, bushes, vines, briars, unwanted vegetation such as invasive and nuisance species), logs, branches, trash, and dead vegetation shall be removed from the stormwater device. 2) All accumulated trash, debris, and sediment shall be removed from all areas of the stormwater device including the ten-foot (10’) buffer around the fence or perimeter of the pond, the base, side slopes or embankment, top of the slope or embankment, trash rack, retrofit and openings of the inlet and outlet structures. E. Finishing 1) Repair bare or eroded areas by applying seed and straw to said areas. All slopes three (3) to one (1) or greater shall receive erosion control matting. 2) Landscape, seed, and straw in and around the stormwater device as needed. F. Spraying 1) Spray the stormwater device with approved herbicide by a commercial licensed pesticide applicator. A copy of the Contractor’s or subcontractor’s Commercial Pesticide Applicator License shall be submitted with the bid. 2) The entire stormwater device boundary shall be sprayed in a manner that shall not harm landscaped areas. 3) Spraying shall be no less than five (5) calendar days after the pond is cut and before. 4) The ten-foot (10’) buffer area around the device shall also be sprayed. The ten-foot (10’) begins from the fence if there is a fence, otherwise it begins from the estimated edge of the top of the embankment. |
